Genta Ismajli Announces Her 2008 North American Tour and the World Premiere of Her New Single “Planet Me”

Chicago, Illinois - April 30, 2008 - Genta Ismajli, the top selling and number one artist of Albania/Kosova, will be launching her North American tour starting in her hometown of Chicago, then continuing to Detroit, New York and ending in Toronto. Performing over 300 live shows throughout the world, and with videos on YouTube generating over 10 million views, she is ready to bring her explosive talent to her fans in North America.

This will also be the launch of her new single, “Planet Me”, from her upcoming English CD. The single will be available on Apple iTunes June 1st. “Planet Me” was written and produced by Kara DioGuardi and Jimmy Harry. Dioguardi has written songs for performers such as Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Carrie Underwood, Kylie Minogue and many other pop sensations. Harry, has also written songs for Kyle Minogue, Kelly Clarkston, and Britney Spears.

EURO VIDEO GRAND PRIX 2006 (3rd June 2006)

The show
The best european video festival is concluded with two winners, Reinhold Bilgeri from Czech Republic and Olena Grebenyuk from Ukraine. Albania represented by Genta Ismajli was classified in the third place. The 27 participants performed under the Triumph Arc, standing on the stage of Congresses Centre Hall, and were introduced by Alketa Veisiu and Edward Villaume, while their videos shown up on three big monitors, mixing with the schenography of the hall. The music was miscellaneous, starting with rhythmic, ballads, a few lyrical notes, etc. It was an Eurovision song contest atmosphere not competing for the best song, but for the best video clip. Most of the singers were coming for the first time in Albania and in the albanian stage. There were some of them, returning in this festival, such as Severina from Croatia and the wellknown macedonian singer Toshe Projevski. In the stage came the winner of Sanremo, Povia, and the fouth place of this year Eurovision, Mihai Traistorue. Albania was represented by the kosovarian singer Genta Ismajli. The hollywood albanian ancestry actress Eliza Dushku, went to the stage to salute the participants and the festival.

The voting
After the presentation of all the videos and the performance of the singers, each member of the jury voted to choose the best seven videos. The voting system was similar to that in the Eurovision song contest. The third place was voted with 7 points, the second with 8, and the first with 9 points. Instead for the other clips, the voting started by incrementing from 1 point. The festival director Vera Grabocka, accredited the special prize to the italian singer Povia.
Evaluated equally with 104 points form the jury, Bilgeri from Czech Republic and Grebenyuk from Ukraine gained the first place. Albania ranked in the third place for the best european video clip.

The Albanian participant in “EuroVideo Grand Prix 2006”, Genta Ismajli was born in one of the most beautiful cities in Kosovo. She has started her musical studies since elementary school in Chicago. She is continuing her education at a private Academy for Solo Singing.

Beautiful and charming, Genta reflects a strong character when she is on stage. She comes on stage as a summer breeze, and performs like a storm.

She became very famous and loved by the public since the first time she came on stage. She has won many awards, in between which: first place in “Kenga Magjike 2005”, “Netet e Klipit 2006” where she won first position, which allowed her to represent Albania in the European Music video Festival.

About Euro Video Grand Prix

One of Europe’s greatest cultural events will be held in Tirana this year - the European Festival of the Music Video “EuroVideo - Grand Prix 2006” - the first one of its kind.

The Festival will be held on the 3rd of June 2006.

The idea, organization and production of this Festival is from "Linda Association" - Tirana/Albania in co-organization with "IEP - International Entertainment Productions" - Vienna/Austria. Kindly supported by European Music & Music Video Producer Associations - Syndicates - Companies, European Music Information Centres, European Recording & Music Video Industries - Companies - Labels, European TV Channels and last but not least with the kind support and courtesy of the Albanian Government.

Most of all European countries will participate at the first edition of this Festival. They have sent their best music video, chosen by specialized and professional local juries, professional national music associations or the national record industry association. Each country, with the great values and qualities that it brings, will claim the Grand Prix.

Accompanying the videos, the Festival stage will welcome all the artists from their respective countries, as well as many guests and celebrities coming from the different fields of the world art and culture. All the participating countries will compete in a glowing Gala Spectacle, where also some famous stars of the European music scene, will join the stage with their marvelous performances.

The Festival will be broadcasted in most of the participating European countries. According to the confirmations, the Festival could have a possible audience of around 400 million.

The main two prizes will be: “The Grand Prix of the Festival” and the special “East – West” prize for the affinity and friendship between European nations. The value of the “Grand Prix Prize” will be Euro 15.000,- while the special prize “East – West” will be Euro 10.000,-. The jury may accord additional prizes for various components.

The organizers aim for the “Euro Video - Grand Prix 2006” to grow into an annual tradition and an event for the entire Europe.
